Inspiration from 2 Peter 1:3-8 "God's call and choice ³God's divine power has given us everything we need to live a truly religious life through our knowledge of the one who called us to share in His own glory and goodness.⁴In this way he has given us the very great and precious gifts He promised, so that by means of these gifts you may escape from the destructive lust that is in the world, and may come to share the divine nature.⁵For this very reason do your best to add goodness to your faith; to your goodness add knowledge;⁶ To your knowledge add self-control; to your self-control add endurance; to your endurance add godliness;⁷To your godliness add Christian affection; and to your Christian affection add love. ⁸These are the qualities you need, and if you have them in abundance, they will make you active and effective in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. What is your lifestyle? Are you coping from nieighbours or you are trying to be unique? Has it been rough or smooth? Sincerely speaking living as a Christian is tough, there are just so many dos and don'ts. You have to be conscious of everything you do or say and to top it all, they say somethings can corrupt you so you need to be cautious. Discipline is the word if you want to sum all these up.How long do you think you can survive in the ocean without gas? Simple, not for long! Why? Because you have been created for land. See how fishes move easily in the ocean, I feel like it is too big a space and there are just too many hidden things but just as we feel comfortable on land so do the inhabitants of the ocean.When I read 2 Peter 1:3-8, I knew I had chanced upon a map of christianity. We all believe that christianity is not easy and others even believe that they can't live as such. Well here is what you don't know, God's divine power has already given us everything to live as His followers.He has made everything possible, you don't have to rely on your strength. Sincerely this flesh cannot live like Christ, that is why we have spirit within; it is the state God relates with, so if your spirit man is strong, your flesh would succumb to discipline. You also need some qualities if you want to be Christ like, you need to be active and effective in the knowledge of our LORD Jesus Christ. You need faith, goodness, knowledge, self-control, endurance, godliness, christian affection and love. With all these in place, you should be able to live like Christ .
